Flowid & Chemtrix | Wouter Stam & Charlotte Wiles
Wouter Stam
Starting his career in 2003 at A. Hak Industrial Services, he moved in 2004 to Octoplus in Leiden to work on the process development of controlled release devices. In 2008, Wouter co-founded Flowid BV (a spin out of the Eindhoven University of Technology) as Managing Director where he worked on: "Turning the process industry upside down, just by making process equipment smaller." Flowid is convinced that the chemical industry can be made safer, more efficient and more flexible by thinking beyond standards. In doing so, we don't let standard solutions stand in our way. We combine our customers' experience with our own expertise and technology to create safe, efficient and flexible solutions that line up perfectly with the customer's needs. A good look & feel and user friendly interfaces contribute to a great all-round user experience we can be proud of. To achieve all this, we develop process solutions and products that can be implemented in all stages of the process industry: from R&D to pilot, scalable to production capacity. My role within Flowid is financial and commercial management of Flowid. My added value is to combine people and their expertise in combination with a thorough analysis of the problem. To realize together a more efficient process industry.
Dr. Charlotte Wiles
Starting her research in the area of continuous flow synthesis in 2000, Dr Charlotte obtained her PhD in 2003 entitled ‘Microreactors in organic synthesis’. This was followed by 5 years of Post Doctoral research into the rapidly developing field of continuous flow synthesis, specifically in the area of heterogeneous catalysis for small molecule synthesis.
In 2008, Dr Charlotte Wiles joined Chemtrix BV as a Senior Chemist where she worked on the commercialisation of lab-scale micro reactor apparatus. In 2010 she was promoted to Chief Technology Officer within Chemtrix BV and in 2013 to CEO, where she continues to research and develop continuous flow systems and solutions for industrial partners; with more recent developments focusing on industrial flow reactors, suited towards the development of flexible tonne-scale production plants, in cooperation with 3M and DSM.
