A three-year H2020 project called SPOTLIGHT sees a Consortium of 12 Partners working on the development of a disruptive technology for the production of solar fuels! Focussing on two processes (rWGS & Sabatier), the Project will build on existing catalyst technology & address current issues with process efficiency, catalyst lifetime & cost – aiming to overcome the limitations that could prevent industrial implementation.

Through the development of a photonic device, the SPOTLIGHT will efficiently harness sunlight for the conversion of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide & green hydrogen to the chemical fuel methane & carbon monoxide to the chemical fuel methanol.
